WHY DO I NEED A DOWNLOAD MANAGER?
When you buy a complete CD from a download site you receive a separate download link for each and every track. So, if a CD has 22 tracks, you receive 22 download links.

Downloading all of these MP3 files separately can be a relatively painstaking process, especially if you don't have a fast internet connection. It would be much more convenient if there were a way of downloading all 22 tracks in one go without having to wait around for each successive one to download.

Onyx provides its customers with a FREE piece of software called the Onyx Free Download Manager. Onyx Free Download Manager has the following advantages:

You can tell the Download Manager to download all of your MP3 files at once so that you don't have to wait around in order to download each file separately.

It can significantly increase your download speed.

You can tell the download manager where to save your MP3 files on your computer.

You can rename your MP3 files before they are even downloaded.

You can use this programme for downloading all sorts of files from any website, not just Onyx.

GETTING STARTED
To Download the Onyx Download Manager, Please click on the link at the top of the page.

When you see the window below, click "Save" and select the directory on your computer where you would like to save it.
When it has downloaded, navigate to the place on your computer where you saved the file and double click on it. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the Free Download Manager.

DOWNLOADING FILES WITH THE ONYX FREE DOWNLOAD MANAGER
When you pay for a complete CD download from Onyx, you will be taken to a web page containing download links to all the tracks from your chosen CD. You will also receive an email containing the same links.

With the web page open (or with the email open), open up Onyx Download Manager. You should be able to access it by clicking on the "Start" Menu at the bottom left-hand corner of your screen and then by clicking on "All Programmes". This procedure may vary slightly from computer to computer. Click on the item that says "Free Download Manger".

A small semi-transparent arrow will appear at the bottom right-hand corner of your screen.

Place your cursor over one of your download links (in the email you have received or on the web page) and drag it over the semi-transparent arrow. Release the mouse button. A window will appear like the one below:

Where it says "Save to folder", click on the folder icon to the right of the text box to select where you would like to save your MP3 file. If you are happy with the folder that is automatically selected (usually C:\Downloads\), you don't need to do anything.

If you would like to rename the file, uncheck the box which says "Generate a file name automatically". The box below ("save as") will automatically become live. Add the name you would like. Please note, the file name MUST end in ".mp3".

IMPORTANT: Make sure that the track is not called "linklok.php". This file name can sometimes be automatically generated by the security system. The download manager will let you download the file but you will not be able to open the file or play it. If "linklok.php" appears, rename it and continue.

Click OK. The download will start automatically.

Do the same for the rest of your download links.

You don't need to wait for one to finish downloading before adding the rest. Onyx Free Download Manager will automatically download all of the links without you having to hang around. Simple!

If you would like to close the Onyx Download Manager. Right-Click on the semi-transparent arrow and select "Exit". If you would like more configuration options, double click on the semi-transparent arrow to open the main configuration window of the Onyx Download Manager.
